The present portal tries to identify such of those initiatives that use ICTs in furthering the effort in education, employment and livelihood, health, nutrition, family welfare, gender empowerment, market information services, socio-political empowerment and related activities. Through the compilation of such case studies in the above categories, foundation for a clearing house is established for the benefit of the stakeholders. Also in the context of globalisation; through such a clearing house of information, the development functionaries are sensitized to the information needs of the poor; and demystify the technology using it as facilitator.
